RC Speaker Fitment Guide: What Actually Fits a 1/24, 1/18 or 1/10 Build

Most "which speaker" questions are really fitment questions. You have a gap in a bed, a space behind a cab, or a hole in a body shell, and you need to know what goes in it. So this guide is organised by dimensions rather than by model name.

Measure first. Length, width and depth of the space you actually have, in millimetres. Then find it below. Or use Find Your Speaker to filter the whole range by the space you have.

Every dimension here is rounded up to the next millimetre. If a speaker measures 32.5 mm we list it as 33. That way, if it fits on paper it fits in the rig — we would rather overstate a size than have something arrive that does not go in.

1/24 scale

The tightest builds we make for. At this scale the vehicle itself might only be 350 to 500 g, so a heavy speaker is a large fraction of the mass, and interior space is measured in tens of millimetres.

  • Micro Single - 37 x 29 x 21 mm, 25 g. The only one that fits genuinely tight 1/24 bodies.
  • Micro Double - 53 x 29 x 21 mm, 42 g. Same slim 21 mm depth, 16 mm longer, more volume.
  • The Single - 47 x 30 x 23 mm, 32 g. Steps up to a 1-inch driver.

The key number at this scale is depth. The two Micros at 21 mm slide into places nothing else will.

1/18 scale

  • Everything listed for 1/24 works here with room to spare.
  • The Mini - 54 x 36 x 29 mm, 52 g. Smallest battery-powered option, no receiver wiring.
  • The Double receiver version - 64 x 33 x 29 mm, 65 g. Two drivers in a box only 33 mm tall.

1/10 scale

Space stops being the constraint and the question becomes how loud you want to be, and where the box will sit.

If you have a bed:

  • The Quad - only 33 mm tall but 128 mm long. Sits down in a bed rather than stacking upward.
  • The Overkill - 84 x 58 x 35 mm receiver, 41 mm deep on battery. Loudest thing we build.
  • Overkill for Hardline Bed - shaped to the Rock Pirates Hardline bed, drops in without brackets.

If space is tighter:

  • Super Single - 62 x 47 x 32 mm, one 40 mm driver. Good middle ground.
  • Supreme Single - 80 x 58 x 35 mm, one 52 mm driver. Most output from a single driver.

Three things people get wrong when measuring

  1. Forgetting the cable. Receiver-powered models need somewhere for a 110 mm cable to go, plus a small service loop.
  2. Measuring the opening, not the path. A box that fits the final space but cannot get through the gap to reach it is a common surprise on closed bodies.
  3. Ignoring depth on battery versions. The battery version of any model is 3 to 10 mm deeper than the receiver version. On a tight install that is the difference between fitting and not.
